Our Double Sided Whetstone Sharpener 1000/6000 grit combination, can be used for sharpening any kind or type of knives, such as, Japanese Damascus, Meat Cleavers, Stainless Steel etc.
The 1000 grit side of the stone is the most commonly used sharpening tool that puts a new edge on a blunt/slightly damaged knife blade. The 6000 grit side of the stone is a fine granulation, which is used for finishing the edge and the final polishing of the blade.
Depending on the type of metal of the blade and the amount of usage, will determine how often the knife needs to be sharpened. The better quality of steel, the less the blade will need to be sharpened.
